THE TITLE OF THE SERMON THAT PREACHED BY BISHOP GEOFFREY BULIBA. Fact that a firm our faith Luke 2: 1 - 31 V1. And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Agustus that all the world should be registered. V2. These censors first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. V3. So all went to be registered everyone to his own city. V4. Joseph also went out from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem because he was of the house and lineage of David. V5. To be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child so it was that while they were there the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her first born son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes. V 22-32. And laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Now there were in the same country shepherd living out in the field keeping watch over the flocks by night. And behold an angle of the Lord stood before them and the Glory of the Lord shone around them and they were greatly afraid. Then the angle said to them, do not be afraid for behold, I bring you tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a savior who is Christ the lord. And this will be the sign to you: you find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. TODAY I just want to talk about the Facts that a firm our faith. * Fact that a firm’s our faith: we give all the glory and honor to the most high God to * It’s joy to stand before you to preach the Good news. > Good news always must be based on facts and not upon fiction A Lie, is not good news, and it will not last long. There is no good news I n a lie, it may course harm and destruction. The Psalmist testified that savior will surely come and said that He will suffer much. Michael proclaimed that He would come and He will be born in certain place. Zacharia had declared that He would surely come, saying the Whole man whose name is the branch. Malachi had announced that He will surely come and said that son of the righteous will a rise with healing with His wings. * As manifest believers, Adam, Abel, Mellezedek, Abraham, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, Samuel, David, Solomon, Jeremiah, Elijah, Elishah, Jonah, Hosea, Ezekiel, Isiah and along with all the rest. They all believed that he was to come, He did Came! although the skeptics doubted, but He still came. The hypocrites hoped He would not come, He still came. The heathen ignore His coming, but He still came. The agnostics denied the possibility of His coming, He still came. The heretic spouses that He would come. The idealists thought that he would never come and yet He did came. Mathew, the Tax collector said, He came. Mark said He came. Luke the doctor said He came. John, the fisherman said He came. Stephen, the murdered deacon said He came. Peter said He came. Paul the Preacher power excellence said He came. * Beloved, the History is recorded that Jesus Came! A baby was born and we can not deny it. Josephath, the Jewish Historian said he came. Even the star knew that the Savior will come, it illuminated the Place he was born. The angles new He came, they gathered together and said Glory TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST! PEACE ON EARTH AND GOODWILL TOWARDS ALL MEN. The Shepherd New He Came, and they Bowed and worshipped before Him. Mary new He came and she rejoiced to see that day. Joseph new He came and acknowledged His existence. The Majors knew he came and they Presented Gifts of Gold, frankincense and Myrrh. Even King Herold knew because He gave a command to slain all male children two years old and below. Herold was Alameda when he learned that the king had been born! Beloved, the text before us is a savior, we have a savior! My brothers/ sisters. No religious claims a savior and that is a fact that we have a savior Jesus---- our Lord was not just an Ethical teacher, and he was not just a good Leader. He is our savior! And that is why we differ with religious, because for them he was just a good example and a good teacher. But as believers, we have a savior. That’s why the world let our blessed redeemer with moral man. You know how the media works, they have a list of "great men". They go around town talking about how great this and that person was. For instance, some men are really talk good about Martin Luther King Jr., the Hindu fellow ghandi, Jomo Kenyatta Jesse Jackson and Buddha. And then they come on to Jesus Christ as one this guys in their list. NO beloved! Our savior one of this guys. Please don’t get me wrong, I like Kenyatta, I like Martin Luther King, I like some other leaders but we can not compare them with Jesus. He is our savior, we have a savior beloved No other religion has a man who took all rock of cross upon his shoulders and drunk it upon the hill. And that became sin fort us and was nailed to that cross. No other religion has a savior, who endures the suffering and shame. Who fulfill every---- and little of God law. NO other religion has a savior who hanged up from sixth to ninth hour. Bleeding from his hands bleeding from his feet bleeding from his side, dyeing so that his people may have a right to the tree of life. No other religion has a savior who had been wound for our transgressions and bruised for out iniquities. No other religion has a savior who fully honors God’s law so well. That God declared and said. This is my beloved son whom I’m pleased. He didn’t even say it to the Angeles. To which angel has God has prepared the chair on his right hand? Oh, my beloved no other religion has a savior! I am a token!!!! 3Beloved we have savior, and a savior who was born. That what of this text WHEN !!!!!!!!!!(VERSE ONE) Beloved we have proof that our savior was born. We have proof that a special child happened. See verse one again. And come to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Agustus, Oh, we know when it happened, at the time a when a Roman decree had been send out for this Census to be taken. We know when it happened, It happened when the fullness of God had come. It happened when Caesar Agustus, you know him Octevian the grand nephew of Julius Caesar. It was when he was emperor of Rome that’s when it happened to verse two. And this sencus first took place while Quirinius was governing of Syria. It is recorded in History. Whatever year Quirinius was governor at a time when Octevian was Emperor that’s when it happened. That is a fact, Beloved! THAT’S WHEN! WHERE IT HAPPENED? (Take a look at verse three). And so all went to be registered everyone to his own city. Joseph also up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem that’s the place about five mile south of Jerusalem. The name Bethlehem means; home of bread. Is not teeting then? That’s the bread of heaven ought to be born in the home of bread. Bethlehem, Bethlehem where the same city where Rachel died and buried. Bethlehem that’s a real place, a factual place We know where it is, and it is the same place savior was born. The ancestral home of the king David and thee fulfillment of that he will be of the seed of Jesse. We know where it was, it was in Bethlehem, that’s the place where boy, roots, kinsmen, redeemer, that’s His home. WE GOT THE PLACE! * You remember the prophet already prophesized that this would be the place. > Michael said but thou Bethlehem though thy be little among you, a thousand of Judea yet of this shall come forth unto me, that is hall be a ruler of all Israel who is gone for been for those from Israel Who is gone for the been from everlasting. He’s talking bout the king. beloved, we have a savior who was born right where God said he would be born That’s a fact beloved, which affirms our faith. > Beloved, we Know WHO WAS BORN JESUS THAT’S A FACT. > We WAHTR was born A SAVIOR, CHRIST THE LORD. > We know WHEN he was born. When Quirinius was governor of Syria. When Octavian was Emperor of Rome. > We know where he was born in Bethlehem. * But not only this beloved; we also know HOW. HE WAS BORN. Let us look at How. in transmission and transition ; He came by God’s direction and by Gods power Man had NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS COMING!!!! He came by the DIRECTIVE WILL of God Almighty. Man did not control His coming Man did not choose the time of His coming Man did not help nor Hinder His coming IS THAT RIGHT BELOVED? He came under the mighty Hand of God and Mary and Joseph did not Orchestrate the event, but the HOLY SPIRIT took the seed out of the hand of the father and laid it in the Womb of the Virgin Mary and He did it without the Help of our brother Joseph * We know how he came in transmission, He came by the hand of our father that’s how He came > In Luke 1:34, Mary said unto the angel: "How shall this be?" saying," I know not man". -That means, how can I give birth to child when I have never had a relationship with a man; but, in V35 the angel came and said unto her the HOLY Ghost shall come upon Thee and Power of the HIGHEST shall overshadow thee; therefore also, the Holy thing shall be born and shall be called the son of God. We Know came beloved. Oh, beloved, not only in transmission and transition, do we know how He came. But we know how He came in condition: He came without dynasty or Riches He came humbly. He came poor These are the facts! Facts which affirm our faith. V24 of the Text said they came to offer a sacrifice according what is said in the Lord: A pair of turtle doves or young pigeons. This offering was reserved for the poor - when he came He was wrapped in swaddling clothes; He had no Clothes ; He had no Cream; But He would have to be laid in a manger the feeding place of and animal!! A heavenly Lord arrived in this World in a way for families of the lowest social standing ; but this condition but this condition befitted his mission on Earth Of gathering the lowly unto Himself.
